There will also be a discussion forum on the environment titled "The Celebration: Love Earth, Weaving Love for Our World" on June 4, 2024, from 14:00 to 17:00 hours at SCBX Next Tech, 4th Floor, Siam Paragon.
Siam Piwat Group, a leading property and retail developer known for global destinations like Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery (alongside joint ventures ICONSIAM, ICS, and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok), is implementing a comprehensive 360-degree waste management policy. This initiative aims to transform the company into a zero-waste organization. The ONESIAM Drinking Water Project is another key step in Siam Piwat's journey to reduce landfill waste by 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Ms. Naratipe Ruttapradid, Chief Operating Officer, Siam Piwat Co., Ltd. stated “In collaboration with our environmentally passionate partners, we are proud to present this event, leveraging a Co-Creation strategy and a Creating Shared Values approach by utilizing ONESIAM aluminum beverage cans (100% recyclable), and other existing recyclable materials to create something valuable. With the creativity of the LGBTQIAN+ community and the collaboration of expert upcycling artists, we have transformed these materials into a fashion show that aims to raise awareness about the growing environmental crisis and promote sustainable consumption practices.
Siam Piwat goes beyond business to become an environmental leader, integrating eco-conscious practices into every facet of our operations. We promote the mindful use of resources and maximize their reuse through our waste management strategy, guided by the principles of "Choose, Use, Separate, and Create." We are developing a comprehensive waste management system and collaborating with partners across various sectors to enhance knowledge and establish best practices that serve as a model for other organizations. We also encourage Thai citizens, particularly those living in Bangkok and surrounding areas, to actively participate and play a crucial role in effective waste management through our Recycle Collection Center (RCC). In 2023, we successfully recycled and upcycled over 4,000 kilograms of waste, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 8,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent, which is comparable to planting 860 trees.”
