CORPORATE - 04 APRIL 2025

Siam Piwat Group, a leading real estate and retail developer and the owner and operator of world-renowned projects such as Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, co-owner of ICONSIAM, and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, reaffirms its position as a hub of creativity, innovation, and culture. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has entrusted Siam Piwat with hosting the “BIMSTEC Young Gen Forum: Where the Future Meets” at ICONSIAM. This event is a side event of the BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Summit, hosted by Thailand from April 2–4, 2025, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok.

Being selected as the venue for this international event reflects the trust that both governmental bodies and global organizations place in Siam Piwat. It reinforces the company’s commitment to being “The Visionary Icon,” dedicated to creating world-class phenomena that connect people, cultures, and economies. It also enhances Thailand’s image as a regional center of economic growth and innovation. ICONSIAM, the global landmark along the Chao Phraya River, continues to be a global venue for international conferences and events. The forum has drawn over 300 registered participants from various countries, offering a key opportunity for building international academic and business networks while showcasing Thailand’s potential to a global audience.

The BIMSTEC Young Gen Forum: Where the Future Meets is held from April 2–3, 2025, at ICONSIAM. It provides a platform for youth and emerging entrepreneurs from the seven member countries—India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Nepal—to meet, exchange ideas, and share experiences. The goal is to drive economic growth and sustainable development in the BIMSTEC region across areas such as connectivity, trade and investment, science, technology and innovation, agriculture and food security, environment and climate change, people-to-people relations, and security—including tackling emerging threats like cyberattacks.

A special keynote address will be delivered by H.E. Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chairperson of the Advisory Board to the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. His address aims to inspire and share sustainable economic and social development concepts.

BIMSTEC serves as a key platform for fostering international cooperation among countries in the Bay of Bengal region, focusing on economic, social, and technological advancement. Thailand’s role as this year’s host underscores the global community’s confidence in its leadership in driving regional collaboration and positioning itself as Asia’s economic hub—empowering the younger generation to step onto the global stage.
