Siam Piwat joins hands with global partners to share insights on the use of AI to drive retail business at “AI Transformation in Retail,” a side event of Techsauce Global Summit 2024
Bangkok (August 6, 2024) - Siam Piwat Group – a leading real estate and retail business developer and the owner and operator of global destinations such as Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, ICONSIAM, and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok – has joined hands with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) and leading partners of SCBX Next Tech Ecosystem, the collaborative tech ecosystem, including Microsoft (Thailand), Google Cloud, and Wisesight (Thailand), to organize the “AI Transformation in Retail” event at SCBX Next Tech, Siam Paragon, with the objective of sharing knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on the use of AI to drive business and create changes in the retail world. This is another key side event of Techsauce Global Summit 2024, the largest tech event in Southeast Asia, held under the theme “The World of Tomorrow With AI” from August 7-9, 2024, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
At this event, Siam Piwat Group, led by Mr. Axel Winter, Chief Digital Officer of Siam Piwat Co., Ltd. and CEO of Exponential Company Limited (a subsidiary of Siam Piwat Group), and Mr. Panthep Nilasinthop, Chief Customer Officer of Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., shared knowledge and perspectives on the utilization of AI technology to develop innovative solutions in the retail business to better meet consumer needs in the future. Mr. Axel Winter gave a keynote speech on “Generative AI: Shaping the Future of Employment and Business.” Sharing insights on using AI for business transformation, he explained how generative AI will increase opportunities to enhance productivity, improve customer interactions, and promote future business growth. The event also featured Dr. Chinawut Chinaprayoon, Executive Vice President of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), who gave a keynote speech on “AI Ecosystem of Enhancing Human Capabilities.” The talk focused on how artificial intelligence ecosystems can enhance human capabilities, which play a significant role in the country’s business sector and industries, AI applications for digital transformation, the empowerment of local AI talents, the importance of attracting international AI talents, investment in infrastructure such as data centers, and the development of AI-driven strategies to spur Thailand’s economic growth.
Additionally, executives from Siam Piwat, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), Microsoft (Thailand), Google Cloud, and Wisesight (Thailand) participated in a panel discussion titled “Unlocking New Possibilities in Retail with AI,” where they shared their views on new opportunities in the retail world brought about by artificial intelligence. Mr. Panthep Nilasinthop, Chief Customer Officer of Siam Piwat Co., Ltd., discussed the use of AI to enhance customer experiences across all channels, how AI helps data analysis, and gain deeper insights into customer needs to create unique “wow experiences” and offer new, differentiated products and services. Dr. Warin Ratchananusorn, Director of the Digital Startup Institute, expressed his view that AI will significantly impact future retail business models as due to its ability to analyze and process increasing amounts of data to better meet customer needs. Mr. Vasupon Thankakan, Chief Operation Officer of Microsoft (Thailand), shared his view on AI’s role in future retail businesses, noting that AI implementation will help technology understand human language, which will enhance UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) design and thus improve convenience. Mr. Putti Tangtrakulwongse, Strategic Technology Lead at Google Cloud, addressed the challenges of implementing AI in the retail sector, emphasizing the prioritization of proper internal data management and how generative AI makes it easier to understand data and develop customer services. He also stressed the importance of choosing appropriate technologies and service providers for each project. Mr. Warat Wongmaneekit, Chief Product Officer of Wisesight (Thailand), shared his insights on how to harness AI and data to create customer engagement across both online and offline channels and create data interconnectivity to provide customers with excellent experiences and comprehensive services across all aspects. The discussion was moderated by Ms. Nitapha Inchai, Head of Digital Economy Promotion at the Digital Economy Promotion Agency.
