Siam Piwat Supports the First Equal Marriage Registration Ceremony in Thailand’s History, Paragon Hall selected as a Venue for a New Guiness World Record

Most recently, Siam Piwat has joined forces with Naruemit Pride, the Equal Marriage Registration Task force, and a network of public and private sector partners to count down to the landmark Equal Marriage Day. , aiming to make history by registering over 1,000 couples for marriage simultaneously across Thailand. This historic event targeting a Guinness World Record is set to take place on January 22, 2025, at Paragon Hall.
Mr. Ek-kawit Chaiwaranurak, , Assistant Managing Director, Group Head - Siam Center & Siam Discovery attended the press conference for “Countdown to Marriage Equality Day” on December 2. He also joined a panel discussion on the topic “Business Readiness for Creating Marriage Equality History”, where he stated that Siam Piwat, as a developer of world-class destinations, is proud to welcome people from across Thailand and around the globe. “We are committed to fostering inclusivity and providing equal opportunities for all. Our venues aim to be a hub for communities that celebrate and value diversity. We fully support Marriage Equality Day and have designated the SCBX Next Stage on the 4th floor of Siam Paragon as the venue for the press conference, marking the countdown to this significant milestone. This includes the first-ever equal marriage registration event in history, which will take place on January 22, 2025, at Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon.”

On this occasion, Naruemit Pride has organized a special event for LGBTQIAN+ couples ready to register their marriages on the first day the law comes into effect. The grand event will take place at Paragon Hall, 5th Floor, Siam Paragon, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Couples participating in the event will enjoy numerous benefits, including exclusive privileges to attend concerts by various artists and the chance to celebrate alongside friends, family, and allies within the LGBTQIAN+ community and partner organizations. In addition, 878 districts nationwide and 50 districts in Bangkok are fully prepared to accommodate the marriage registration of LGBTQIAN+ couples on this historic day.
This event is supported by several key organizations, including the Office of the Prime Minister, the Department of Provincial Administration under the Ministry of Interior, the Department of Women's Affairs and Family Development under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the Rights and Liberties Protection Department under the Ministry of Justice, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Private sector partners, such as Siam Piwat Co., Ltd. and Match Group (MTCH), are also joining forces with all sectors to make this day a pivotal moment in the legal recognition of families of all genders. Wednesday, January 22, 2025, will mark a historic milestone in Thailand, as LGBTQIAN+ couples can legally register their marriages for the first time. This monumental achievement highlights the progress in rights and equality driven by public advocacy and collaborative efforts over many years. The "Marriage Equality" bill was officially published in the Royal Gazette on September 24, 2024, marking a transformative step in advancing equality and human rights for Thailand's LGBTQIAN+ community.
